Sepp Mainville tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Atilano Benat was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gilles Clerc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Atilano Benat having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
