Folke Abrahamsson kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Jimmy Olsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jon Loarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Jimmy Olsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jon Loarte in the 17th minute of play. In the 19th minute of the match Leon Sport Club got a corner. Linköpings AIK's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cornel Chira ran over to the corner to take the kick. Leon Sport Club's Valdo Prado was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jimmy Olsson in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 19 minutes, Valdo Prado made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Linköpings AIK's Jimmy Olsson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Arvid Carlsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clóvis Reis having to interfere. Oswaldo Talavera's late challenge caught a Linköpings AIK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Oswaldo Talavera helped the player get up and apologised. After 26 played minutes Leon Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by Oswaldo Talavera. Clóvis Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Willy Witarya, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Linköpings AIK's Jimmy Olsson got control of the ball when Valdo Prado tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arvid Carlsson in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clóvis Reis saved Leon Sport Club from getting behind. In the 34th minute Jon Loarte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jimmy Olsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Arvid Carlsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Linköpings AIK's supporters rose to their feet, but Arvid Carlsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Clóvis Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 39 minutes, Julien Staffelbach managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Linköpings AIK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Julien Staffelbach was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leon Sport Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Giovanni Massa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jimmy Olsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 43 played minutes Leon Sport Club got a freekick which was hit by Tiberiu Ulici. In the 45th match minute, Linköpings AIK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albin Nilsson to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the match, Linköpings AIK's goalkeeper Jimmy Olsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Giovanni Massa. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arvid Carlsson to make the kick off. Marbjörn Garpsson kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Linköpings AIK players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Leon Sport Club.
