Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Severino Campelo during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eneko Alvarez having to interfere. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Vilmantas Ubavičius kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. After 94 minutes of play Mas que Vencedores 1988's Severino Campelo was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Severino Campelo kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Eneko Alvarez acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 96th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Camilo Gaos. Venezuela's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Mas que Vencedores 1988 had won, even though Venezuela had held more of the ball.
