SE Palmeiras's Nilson Dracena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Paulo Corrêa in the 7th minute of play. 9 minutes into the game, João Vítor de Almeida was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SE Palmeiras's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Queluzito the free kick. João Vítor de Almeida hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. A throw-in in the 12th minute of the game was made by Hílton Mineiro with Naldo Carvalho as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Felippe Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. After some careless play in the SE Palmeiras defense, José Paulo Corrêa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nilson Dracena. The SE Palmeiras fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nilson Dracena should have stopped the shot. Donato Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Basílio do Valle, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nilson Dracena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Paulo Corrêa in the 26th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Décio Peixoto during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 27th match minute, SE Palmeiras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Décio Peixoto to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute José Paulo Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilson Dracena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raimundo Monteiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 46th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 47th minute Raimundo Monteiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nilson Dracena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Queluzito were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Sandro Santana got free with Nilson Dracena in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Raimundo Monteiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Nilson Dracena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Monteiro in the 57th minute of play forced SE Palmeiras's goalkeeper Nilson Dracena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 58 minutes, Jano do Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SE Palmeiras and the Queluzito players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 58th minute, Jano do Vale hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 59th minute, Queluzito's Raimundo Monteiro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-4. The supporters of Queluzito booed when SE Palmeiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Fernando Aparecido didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute, Roger Vargas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nilson Dracena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro Santana, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. 72 minutes into the match, Raimundo Monteiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nilson Dracena. SE Palmeiras's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Raimundo Monteiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-5. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sandro Santana in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nilson Dracena saved SE Palmeiras from getting behind. José Paulo Corrêas short, quick shot in the 78thth minute got Nilson Dracena to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With a little luck, SE Palmeiras's Nilson Dracena got control of the ball when Raimundo Monteiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 83 minutes into the match, Raimundo Monteiro notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of SE Palmeiras's Nilson Dracena. Nilson Dracena was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. José Paulo Corrêa's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Nilson Dracena firmly grabbed it by the left post. When the match was over Queluzito could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SE Palmeiras throughout the match.
