Donato Valle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brian Friberger, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emerson Falcão who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 18thth minute tested the skills of Hjalmar Hagström when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 20 minutes into the match, La vecchia signora's goalkeeper Hjalmar Hagström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by José Paulo Corrêa. In the 21st minute, Raimundo Monteiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 22 minutes into the game, Kim Lindqvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Queluzito walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
