Abelardo Medeiros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Filipe Travassos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Internazionale-RS's Rodolfo Pontes was substituted for Luís Eduardo Figueiredo. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. When Ian Cerezo came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the SE Palmeiras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ian Cerezo couldn't finish the play. After having played for 67 minutes, Ronaldinho de Amaral managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Internazionale-RS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ronaldinho de Amaral was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Oswaldo Godoi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Will Muralhas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ronaldinho de Amaral in the 83rd minute of play. When Joaquim Miranda fell near the penalty area in the 85th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SE Palmeiras's protests and gave Joaquim Miranda a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SE Palmeiras getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Joaquim Miranda hit a great ball. Ian Cerezo kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Jorginho Soares could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Will Muralhas made a huge save. If Joaquim Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bruno Santana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match was over Internazionale-RS could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than SE Palmeiras throughout the match.
