A collision led to La vecchia signora getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Brian Friberger hit a great ball. Horace Vaughn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Claes Jönsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 12 minutes into the match, La vecchia signora's goal looked a bit too open when Horace Vaughn came free, but Claes Jönsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claes Jönsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Orval Crow in the 13th minute of play. In the 14th minute, Donald Kearns got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gunnar Nordahl in the 16thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jerrod Staples, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 17 minutes into the match, La vecchia signora's goal looked a bit too open when Darin Nunn came free, but Claes Jönsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Donald Kearns hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Michael Forss in the 25th minute of play forced Flames FC's goalkeeper Jerrod Staples to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Donald Kearns's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Claes Jönsson was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. After 31 minutes, Orval Crow made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. La vecchia signora's Claes Jönsson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of La vecchia signora booed when Flames FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orval Crow didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jerrod Staples came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by La vecchia signora's Michael Forss. But to his dismay, Michael Forss quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 39 minutes, Horace Vaughn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Flames FC and the La vecchia signora players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of La vecchia signora booed when Flames FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Horace Vaughn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Donald Kearns received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Claes Jönsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Orval Crow was the one to do the kick off. Claes Jönsson was out of position in the 54 minute of play, and Darin Nunn capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Darin Nunn really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. In the 57th minute, Flames FC's Orval Crow dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. In the 59th minute, Gunnar Nordahl hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matt Stokes's late challenge caught a La vecchia signora's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matt Stokes helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Flames FC getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Matt Stokes hit a great ball. In the 81st minute, Flames FC's Horace Vaughn dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-5. The audience thought a goal was coming when Horace Vaughn got free with Claes Jönsson in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 88 minutes into the game, Flames FC's Orval Crow nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Claes Jönsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. Orval Crow struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Claes Jönsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Flames FC. Maximilian Larsfelt kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. Valère Flowers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orval Crow in the 98th minute of play forced La vecchia signora's goalkeeper Claes Jönsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Flames FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Flames FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
