Nestor Iratxo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kasper Bivall in the 13th minute of play. Arturo Espiridion sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. August Hjortberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by John Godholm in the 20th minute. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Puskas United! Stig-Arne Ekerot was slow to take the kick. During this time Flamengo's players had a chance to rest. After a rather tough play, Puskas United's Jonatan Ivarsson got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Nestor Iratxo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kasper Bivall, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. In the 47th minute Kasper Bivall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Iratxo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kasper Bivall was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Flamengo's goal looked a bit too open when John Godholm came free, but August Hjortberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nestor Iratxo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kasper Bivall, who was totally free with the ball in the 94th minute.
