Hammarby IF's Holger Vester proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Hammarby IF from getting a goal against them. 9 minutes into the match, Stefan Bogren dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Holger Vester, 1-0. In the 13th match minute, Hammarby IF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blanco Mera to maneuver through the defense. After 17 minutes Hammarby IF's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Allan Björk who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Allan Björk got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Holger Vester quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 20 minutes into the match, Stefan Bogren dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Holger Vester, 2-0. 27 minutes into the match, Lidköping's goal looked a bit too open when Francesco Totti came free, but Kristoffer Västerstrand reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Stefan Bogren struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Holger Vester didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lidköping. Lidköping's Kristoffer Västerstrand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Celedonio Dominguez in the 31st minute of play. After some careless play in the Hammarby IF defense, Adam Mårtensson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Holger Vester. The Hammarby IF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Holger Vester should have stopped the shot. Kristoffer Västerstrand showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celedonio Dominguez in the 37th minute of the match. If Stefan Bogren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 42 minutes into the match, Allan Björk dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Holger Vester, 4-0. In the 44th match minute, Lidköping was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per-Åke Myr to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute, Isaltino Paes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kristoffer Västerstrand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francesco Totti in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adam Mårtensson to strike the kick off in the second half. Kristoffer Västerstrand showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gösta Söderberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Adam Mårtensson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lidköping's supporters rose to their feet, but Adam Mårtensson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Holger Vester breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Kristoffer Västerstrand took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gösta Söderberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lidköping's Kristoffer Västerstrand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gösta Söderberg in the 71st minute of play. Kristoffer Västerstrand made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Francesco Totti sent off a good shot on target.
