After 24 minutes, Teofilo Esdras mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Defensores de Lombroso and the Lobos de Carelia players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 24th match minute, Defensores de Lombroso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teofilo Esdras to maneuver through the defense. In the 25th minute of the match Pavao Zadro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Denis Paulin skillfully saved the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Prospero Perico managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lobos de Carelia's supporters rose to their feet, but Prospero Perico was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Denis Paulin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teofilo Esdras got free with Nestor Cortez in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nestor Cortez made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Lionel-Andrés Messi sent off a good shot on target. In the 32nd minute Lionel-Andrés Messi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nestor Cortez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the match, Lobos de Carelia's goal looked a bit too open when Lionel-Andrés Messi came free, but Nestor Cortez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Lobos de Carelia's goalkeeper Nestor Cortez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Godfredo Gau. After 36 played minutes Lobos de Carelia got a freekick which was hit by Cosme Bikendi. Agustin Fidencio kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lionel-Andrés Messi to make the kick off. Lobos de Carelia's Horacio Oliverios managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Agustin Fidencio in the 52 minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Uriel Ferrer in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nestor Cortez saved Lobos de Carelia from getting behind. Defensores de Lombroso's Teofilo Esdras got his second yellow card of the match in the 56th minute. The referee ordered Teofilo Esdras off the ground. The supporters of Lobos de Carelia booed when Defensores de Lombroso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teofilo Esdras didn't get a good kick on the ball. Defensores de Lombroso's Denis Paulin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pavao Zadro in the 57th minute of play. In the 57th minute, Pavao Zadro made a precise shot to the right of Denis Paulin. Defensores de Lombroso's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Pavao Zadro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lucio Cordarrol kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Defensores de Lombroso's Denis Paulin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prospero Perico in the 67th minute of play. Prospero Perico could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Denis Paulin made a huge save. After some fancy dribbling in the 79th minute, Cristobal Lia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lobos de Carelia's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristobal Lia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Denis Paulin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nestor Cortez stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Lionel-Andrés Messi's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. Nestor Cortez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Uriel Ferrer in the 83rd minute of play. Agustin Fidencio made in the 88th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Lobos de Carelia's Horacio Oliverios. Godfredo Gau's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nestor Cortez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play.
