Denis Paulin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mo Yi Sang, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Mo Yi Sang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denis Paulin having to interfere. 20 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's goalkeeper Matias Carlomagno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Godfredo Gau. Matias Carlomagno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Uriel Ferrer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 31stth minute of the game Uriel Ferrer who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but San Lorenzo's Matias Carlomagno was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mo Yi Sang in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Denis Paulin saved Defensores de Lombroso from getting behind. In the 38thth minute of the game Mo Yi Sang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Defensores de Lombroso's Denis Paulin was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 45th minute of the match San Lorenzo got a corner. Defensores de Lombroso's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gigi Penaru ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on San Lorenzo's corner Gigi Penaru fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Denis Paulin quite easily take care of the ball. In the 47th match minute, San Lorenzo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Izel to maneuver through the defense. Defensores de Lombroso's Ovidio Jokin was substituted for Lucio Cordarrol. After 48 played minutes San Lorenzo got a freekick which was hit by Freddy Izel. After 51 minutes, Uriel Ferrer made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. San Lorenzo's Matias Carlomagno tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Matias Carlomagno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roman Riquelme in the 56th minute of play. Matias Carlomagno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lionel-Andrés Messi in the 65th minute of the match. After some careless play in the San Lorenzo defense, Lionel-Andrés Messi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Matias Carlomagno. The San Lorenzo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Matias Carlomagno should have stopped the shot. After having played for 67 minutes, Roman Riquelme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Defensores de Lombroso's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roman Riquelme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Matias Carlomagno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Godfredo Gau in the 69th minute of the match. Fausto Estebano charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fausto Estebano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Defensores de Lombroso's Amadeo Raebert was substituted for Roman Riquelme. A collision led to San Lorenzo getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Fausto Estebano hit a great ball. Matias Carlomagno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lionel-Andrés Messi, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute of the match Defensores de Lombroso got a corner. San Lorenzo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Defensores de Lombroso's Godfredo Gau was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Matias Carlomagno in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Amadeo Raebert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Matias Carlomagno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. After a rather tough play, San Lorenzo's Fausto Estebano got a free kick in the 77th minute. 79 minutes into the match, San Lorenzo's goal looked a bit too open when Uriel Ferrer came free, but Matias Carlomagno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Matias Carlomagno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amadeo Raebert in the 81st minute of play. The throw-in from Jonathan Raphael in the 86th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by San Lorenzo's Fausto Estebano. Mo Yi Sang in the 86thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Denis Paulin, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. The supporters of Defensores de Lombroso booed when San Lorenzo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Martin Lleir didn't get a good kick on the ball. San Lorenzo's Matias Carlomagno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Amadeo Raebert in the 91st minute of play. Denis Paulin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mo Yi Sang in the 92nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Lionel-Andrés Messi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Defensores de Lombroso's supporters rose to their feet, but Lionel-Andrés Messi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Matias Carlomagno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Matias Carlomagno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amadeo Raebert, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. When Amadeo Raebert came up free with the goalie in the 99th minute, the Defensores de Lombroso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amadeo Raebert couldn't finish the play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Defensores de Lombroso had played much better football throughout.
