Béla Sugár received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Camilo Freixa came out and tried to block the shot, but Béla Sugár slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. Cezar Alexandrus short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Camilo Freixa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Bolivia's Camilo Freixa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 10th minute of the match, managed to save Bolivia from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cezar Alexandru got free with Camilo Freixa in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cezar Alexandru succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 23rd playminute. Fernando Francesco charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Fernando Francesco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, CA San Lorenzo de Almagro's Fernando Francesco got a free kick in the 26th minute. If Eduardo Fontirroig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 38 minutes into the match, Bolivia's goalkeeper Camilo Freixa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fernando Francesco. When Fernando Francesco was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 40 minutes had been played. After 40 played minutes CA San Lorenzo de Almagro got a freekick which was hit by Fernando Francesco. Eduardo Fontirroig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Mingo having to interfere. When Alfredo Ferrant fell near the penalty area in the 48th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bolivia's protests and gave Alfredo Ferrant a yellow card for diving instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

56 minutes into the game, Benito Madrid was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bolivia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CA San Lorenzo de Almagro the free kick. 57 minutes into the game, CA San Lorenzo de Almagro's Cezar Alexandru nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Camilo Freixa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 60th minute, Alfonso de la Cruz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Bolivia's goalkeeper Camilo Freixa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Bolivia's zone, Isidro Luar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Camilo Freixa came out of the goal and Isidro Luar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 67 minutes into the match, CA San Lorenzo de Almagro's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Ferrant came free, but Joel Mingo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Bolivia getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Benito Madrid hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wágner Bittencourt in the 72nd minute of play forced Bolivia's goalkeeper Camilo Freixa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daníel Zago hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. A collision led to Bolivia getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Alfredo Ferrant hit a great ball. 79 minutes into the game, Cezar Alexandru cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Camilo Freixa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 85 played minutes Bolivia got a freekick which was hit by Benito Madrid. After having played for 88 minutes, Béla Sugár managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CA San Lorenzo de Almagro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Béla Sugár was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 88 minutes of play, CA San Lorenzo de Almagro's Cezar Alexandru made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Camilo Freixa was left in no man's land by his defense there! CA San Lorenzo de Almagro's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
