Tivadar Demeter who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 17thth minute tested the skills of Vitaliy Vischak when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The Hungary fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when Hungary's Tivadar Demeter looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Igor Milko made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tivadar Demeter in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vitaliy Vischak saved Ukraine from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Tivadar Demeter's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vitaliy Vischak was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. 66 minutes into the match, Ukraine's goal looked a bit too open when Tivadar Demeter came free, but Vitaliy Vischak reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ukraine players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Hungary.
