A wasted opportunity for Bergby BF. Wasyl Lap showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Wasyl Lap was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wasyl Lap having to interfere. Wasyl Lap made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Bergby BF's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wasyl Lap came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes into the game, Felix Montes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Bergby BF the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 26th minute of the game. One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Bergby BF:s goal. 30 minutes into the match, Bergby BF's Kent Ekerot sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Håkan Skålberg was slow to take the kick. During this time Bergby BF's players had a chance to rest. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kent Ekerot in the 38th minute of play. 44 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Kent Ekerot came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Brask in the 45th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

57 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Waldir Camargo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 59 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Håkan Skålberg who took care of the corner kick. Wasyl Lap took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agustín Saelices to maneuver through the defense. Bergby BF's Håkan Skålberg couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 67th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Ecuador. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Waldir Camargo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Waldir Camargo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kent Ekerot in the 78th minute of the match. In the 79thth minute of the game Kent Ekerot who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Waldir Camargo hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. When Kent Ekerot got free in front of the goal in the 87th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Julio Vera was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Antonio Arias hit a great ball. After 90 played minutes, Bergby BF's Håkan Skålberg shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Bergby BF reached it. After some careless play in the Bergby BF defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wasyl Lap. The Bergby BF fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wasyl Lap should have stopped the shot. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
