Vitório de Salles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 6 played minutes Kaplan got a freekick which was hit by Ren Zhi Ke. After 10 minutes, Luciano Victoro made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Mexilhão F. C.'s Vitório de Salles tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Luciano Victoro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mexilhão F. C.'s Vitório de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ren Zhi Ke in the 15th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Victoro in the 20th minute of play forced Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Vitório de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Germano Pernambucano charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Germano Pernambucano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Germano Pernambucano hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. 25 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Luciano Victoro came free, but Vitório de Salles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. C.'s Vitório de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Victoro in the 33rd minute of play. 39 minutes into the game, Ren Zhi Ke cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Vitório de Salles was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vitório de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luciano Victoro, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The corner led Kaplan's Dércio Leitão to fire away a dangerous shot which Vitório de Salles despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. José Paulo Costa was the one to do the kick off. Luciano Victoro struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Vitório de Salles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kaplan. 55 minutes into the game, Kaplan's Luciano Victoro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vitório de Salles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-4. Ren Zhi Ke came free with the goalkeeper in the 59th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Vitório de Salles could save by the left post. In the 65th minute Damião Granja shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitório de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper couldn't reach when Damião Granja 65 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-5. Emilian Martinez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Germano Pernambucano in the 71st minute of play. Vitório de Salles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damião Granja in the 77th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luciano Victoro got free with Vitório de Salles in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Teodosio Erramu came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Kaplan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teodosio Erramu couldn't finish the play. Mexilhão F. C.'s Vitório de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ren Zhi Ke in the 87th minute of play. In the 89th minute, Damião Granja left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kaplan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. Vitório de Salles made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Ren Zhi Ke sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 96 minutes, Luciano Victoro took a quick shot and it went in 1-7 without a chance for Vitório de Salles to make any attempt to save it. When the match was over Kaplan could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Mexilhão F. C. throughout the match.
