With a little luck, SAN LORENZO FC's Primitivo Salomone got control of the ball when Ville Kaukomaa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Juhana Malmivaara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Primitivo Salomone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SAN LORENZO FC's Maximino Ofelio got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Manne Vapaniemi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximino Ofelio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of FC Jones booed when SAN LORENZO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximino Ofelio didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 20 minutes of play, SAN LORENZO FC's Maximino Ofelio made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manne Vapaniemi was left in no man's land by his defense there! Primitivo Salomone made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Ville Kaukomaa sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Clodoveo Vellito during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. SAN LORENZO FC's Primitivo Salomone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save SAN LORENZO FC from getting a goal against them. A collision led to FC Jones getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Jyrki Lundell hit a great ball. FC Jones's Manne Vapaniemi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximino Ofelio in the 38th minute of play. When Roberto Lorenz fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SAN LORENZO FC's protests and gave Roberto Lorenz a yellow card for diving instead. Roberto Lorenz hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After having played for 44 minutes, Juhana Malmivaara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Jones's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juhana Malmivaara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, SAN LORENZO FC's Nereo Timo got a free kick in the 47th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as FC Jones's Ville Kaukomaa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Primitivo Salomone. That made the score 1-2 after 47 minutes of play. After the first half SAN LORENZO FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Juhana Malmivaara kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Manne Vapaniemi acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 56th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Gavino Fortun. 59 minutes into the match, SAN LORENZO FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kustavi Myötänen came free, but Primitivo Salomone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 61 minutes of play, FC Jones's Kustavi Myötänen made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Primitivo Salomone was left in no man's land by his defense there! FC Jones's Hannu Louke was substituted for Eevert Kahra. The FC Jones fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Manne Vapaniemi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Guido Beltza managed to get in a good position for a shot. SAN LORENZO FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Guido Beltza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Manne Vapaniemi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
