In the 2nd match minute, Cylon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 朱雄朗 to maneuver through the defense. 姚广邦 kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. A collision led to Cylon getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. 莫义林 hit a great ball. After 7 played minutes, Oldham Athletic's Max Håning shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper 龙枫博 came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Oldham Athletic reached it. Folke Smed made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 龙钢超 in the 9th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Cylon's 孙光亦 got a free kick in the 11th minute. Oldham Athletic's Folke Smed played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 龙钢超 in the 14th minute of play. Cylon's 孙光亦 was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Folke Smed in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 21 minutes into the game, Cylon's 龙钢超 nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Folke Smed made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 27 minutes into the match, 龙钢超 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Folke Smed. Oldham Athletic's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 龙钢超 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 1-2 became the score in the 31st minute when Karl-Erik Fransson elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 35 minutes, 龙钢超 put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Folke Smed. After a defensive mix-up in Oldham Athletic's zone, 龙钢超 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Folke Smed came out of the goal and 龙钢超 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 42nd minute, Hubert Backlund hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Oldham Athletic's Folke Smed played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 姚广邦 in the 43rd minute of play. Cylon's defense didn't have a chance, in the 46th minute, when Karl-Erik Fransson scored to the left of an out of position 龙枫博, making the score, 2-3.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. 姚广邦 was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, 龙钢超 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Folke Smed was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. 姚广邦 hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Cylon's 许克沙 was substituted for 尹桑文. Cylon made a substitution. 高榕轩 replaced 郭震迅. After 62 played minutes Cylon got a freekick which was hit by 姚广邦. 龙枫博 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Karl-Erik Fransson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 龙钢超 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Folke Smed tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Oldham Athletic's Folke Smed played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by 姚广邦 in the 72nd minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Oldham Athletic's goal looked a bit too open when 龙钢超 came free, but Folke Smed reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that 龙钢超's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Folke Smed was relentless in the 83rd minute of the game. 龙钢超 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
