The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dominic Cornelis in the 4th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zé Paulo de Godoi saved Clube Atlético Palhocense from getting behind. In the 7th match minute, Lopidato FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stephen Smidts to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute Arthur Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximiliano Mundo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Clube Atlético Palhocense booed when Lopidato FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boruc Majorski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Michael Kindts sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Yannik Meersmans was extremely unlucky when he, in the 52nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 62nd minute, Dominic Cornelis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lopidato FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After some careless play in the Clube Atlético Palhocense defense, Dominic Cornelis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zé Paulo de Godoi. The Clube Atlético Palhocense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zé Paulo de Godoi should have stopped the shot. Boruc Majorski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. After a rather tough play, Clube Atlético Palhocense's Lúcio Prado got a free kick in the 96th minute. Lopidato FC played a much better game than Clube Atlético Palhocense and deserved their victory. The Clube Atlético Palhocense players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
