After a defensive mix-up in Aleksotas FK's zone, Mugur Nisipeanu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tautvydas Dinda came out of the goal and Mugur Nisipeanu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nelson Mendoza scored 0-2 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tautvydas Dinda, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 22 minutes into the match, Aleksotas FK's goal looked a bit too open when Mugur Nisipeanu came free, but Tautvydas Dinda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nelson Mendoza scored 0-3 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tautvydas Dinda, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 35 played minutes Aleksotas FK got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Žvingilas. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson Mendoza in the 37th minute of play forced Aleksotas FK's goalkeeper Tautvydas Dinda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Gervásio Vilhena had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tautvydas Dinda. Aleksotas FK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gervásio Vilhena was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. In the 41st minute Gervásio Vilhena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tautvydas Dinda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nelson Mendoza was the one to do the kick off. Mugur Nisipeanu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. A wasted opportunity for UFC STEAUA. 65 minutes into the match, Aleksotas FK's goalkeeper Tautvydas Dinda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nelson Mendoza. Through an outstanding action, after 81 minutes, Tautvydas Dinda successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Mugur Nisipeanu scored 0-10 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Tautvydas Dinda, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 88th minute, Nelson Mendoza reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Tautvydas Dinda. The goal made the score 0-11.
