Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Tord Jakobsson started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tord Jakobsson in the 3rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexandre Van Mechelen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tord Jakobsson got free with Alexandre Van Mechelen in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Cheetah Team booed when YR Mechelen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leo Vloeberghs didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute, Patrick Möllgren ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alexandre Van Mechelen was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. A collision led to YR Mechelen getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Lieven Raedemaeckers hit a great ball. YR Mechelen's Alexandre Van Mechelen proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save YR Mechelen from getting a goal against them. In the 25th minute Dan Lundström suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. Viktor Bruyneel hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Alexandre Van Mechelen was a little too slow when Tord Jakobsson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 28th minute. The score was now 2-0. In the 32nd match minute, YR Mechelen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Evert-Jan De Roeck to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jannick Melkval to make the kick off. Alexandre Van Mechelen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Möllgren in the 51st minute of play. After 53 played minutes Cheetah Team got a freekick which was hit by Fredrik Larsson. 54 minutes into the game, YR Mechelen's Lieven Raedemaeckers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bengt Ånger made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. When Jozef Van Acker came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the YR Mechelen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jozef Van Acker couldn't finish the play. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cheetah Team's goalkeeper Bengt Ånger, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alexandre Van Mechelen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tord Jakobsson in the 67th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jannick Melkval got free with Bengt Ånger in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Patrik Holm recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With 82 minutes on the clock, Stijn De Jong commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. 81 minutes into the game, one of YR Mechelen:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Lieven Raedemaeckers during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Lieven Raedemaeckers hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 88th match minute, YR Mechelen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maxime Van Bombergen to maneuver through the defense. 92 minutes into the match, YR Mechelen's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Möllgren came free, but Alexandre Van Mechelen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
