Anton Björnberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jelte Bleiswijk in the 29th minute of the match. The throw-in from Gao Fan Sheng in the 35th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Inter de Chillán's Alfonso Sotta. In the 38th minute, Jelte Bleiswijk hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, AEK S.C's Thanasis Koltsidas got control of the ball when Samuel Abel tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Inter de Chillán's Samuel Abel slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Thanasis Koltsidas. That made the score 2-1 after 40 minutes of play. In the 44th minute of the game Albino Zenteno made a throw-in which Rickard Erserman played forward. After 46 minutes, Konstantinos Kouventolakis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AEK S.C and the Inter de Chillán players grew even worse after the yellow card. Konstantinos Kouventolakis kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rickard Erserman to strike the kick off in the second half.
