Vatan Enfal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juaneizu Merida read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. In the 36thth minute of the game Vatan Enfal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nacional's Juaneizu Merida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 39th minute, Grabiel Escorcia left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Nacional fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Nacional's Grabiel Escorcia got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Juaneizu Merida showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vatan Enfal, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Anton Björnberg made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joseph Gayoso in the 53rd minute. Juaneizu Merida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuel Abel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Grabiel Escorcia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nacional's supporters rose to their feet, but Grabiel Escorcia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anton Björnberg breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Inter de Chillán made a substitution. Rickard Erserman replaced Vatan Enfal. Nacional's Walme Yurre was substituted for Mendiko Bueres. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Grabiel Escorcia in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Anton Björnberg saved Inter de Chillán from getting behind. In the 90th minute of the game Albino Zenteno made a throw-in which Arnaldo Detmer played forward. After a rather tough play, Inter de Chillán's Florencio Jax got a free kick in the 90th minute. Nacional's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
