In the 8th minute Xu Sha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patricio Ugutz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Xu Sha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patricio Ugutz was relentless in the 9th minute of the game. Dale Dolar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Juaneizu Merida made a huge save. In the 14th minute, Camilo Candido hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 24 minutes into the match, Grabiel Escorcia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Patricio Ugutz. Barcellos Mineiro FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Grabiel Escorcia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Bünyamin Başel managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Camilo Candido in the 26 minute of the game. Nacional's Juaneizu Merida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Nacional from getting a goal against them. In the 33rd minute, Luciano Inverso got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juaneizu Merida made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dale Dolar in the 36th minute. Patricio Ugutz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Grabiel Escorcia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 44 minutes into the match, Grabiel Escorcia notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Barcellos Mineiro FC's Patricio Ugutz. Patricio Ugutz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dale Dolar to make the kick off. After 53 played minutes Barcellos Mineiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Tião Paraíba. In the 56th minute Dale Dolar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juaneizu Merida saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the game, Tião Paraíba was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barcellos Mineiro FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nacional the free kick. Nacional's Walme Yurre was substituted for Mendiko Bueres. After 63 played minutes Barcellos Mineiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Tião Paraíba. Nacional's Juaneizu Merida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dale Dolar in the 65th minute of play. In the 69th minute, José Luis Rodríguez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Barcellos Mineiro FC's Jorge Carrascal was substituted for Dale Dolar. 73 minutes into the match, Barcellos Mineiro FC's Jorge Carrascal sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juaneizu Merida narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Juaneizu Merida came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Barcellos Mineiro FC's Amerigo Gervasi. But to his dismay, Amerigo Gervasi quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. 91 minutes into the match, Jorge Carrascal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Juaneizu Merida. Nacional's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jorge Carrascal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2.
