In the 5th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. Costel Costeiantu came free with the goalkeeper in the 5th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Joaquin Gayoso could save by the left post. After 9 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Cazalla. In the 10th minute of the match, Maksymilian Pankowski tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Joaquin Gayoso saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Ziętek was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Costel Costeiantu didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Zbigniew Nakoneczny fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ziętek's protests and gave Zbigniew Nakoneczny a yellow card for diving instead. Maksymilian Pankowski took the ball and in the 14 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Through an outstanding action, after 23 minutes, Joaquin Gayoso successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 25 minutes, Costel Costeiantu made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso got control of the ball when Costel Costeiantu tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 30th match minute, Ziętek was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costel Costeiantu to maneuver through the defense. Jacek Olejniczak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Ziętek's Tadeusz Tyskie. But to his dismay, Tadeusz Tyskie quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. In the 41st match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Covarrubias to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd minute of the match Juliusz Dres shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Joaquin Gayoso showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 47 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Franco.

The wind increased when Francisco Seco made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Costel Costeiantu came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Francisco Seco got free with Jacek Olejniczak in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jacek Olejniczak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Costel Costeiantu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ziętek's goalkeeper Jacek Olejniczak, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 67th minute Wojciech Huk shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Costel Costeiantu in the 74th minute of play. Ziętek made a substitution. Olaf Ogrodowicz replaced Zbigniew Nakoneczny. Wlodzimierz Blochowiak made in the 79th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Jerzy Bentkowski. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maksymilian Pankowski, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. The corner ended in Fryderyk Nieuzyla almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso did a great save. Costel Costeiantu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. Ziętek were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Uruguay for a fine match.
