Rodd Laing took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnoldo Leicea. Arnoldo Leicea dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Willy Hautefeuille received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cosa nostra Lyon's goalkeeper Clem Fath, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When Cezmi Gök came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the MarineerS FK fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cezmi Gök couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cezmi Gök was the one to do the kick off. The corner led MarineerS FK's Dinç Tuncay to fire away a dangerous shot which Clem Fath despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Clem Fath showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mecnun Seha, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Tim Ménet could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 58th minute of the match, but Arnoldo Leicea made a huge save. Cezmi Gök fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clem Fath having to interfere. Clem Fath took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valentin Rydberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dinaras Stanaitis kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Clem Fath showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Žydrūnas Pauža in the 67th minute of the match. 69 minutes into the match, Cosa nostra Lyon's goal looked a bit too open when Valentin Rydberg came free, but Clem Fath reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
