After 5 minutes of play, Dr Lecter SC's Corneliu Dridu made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dida Taffarel was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 14th minute Ma Wei Jun shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dida Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Corneliu Dridu, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Dida Taffarel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Corneliu Dridu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfredo Martins in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cosme Pere saved Dr Lecter SC from getting behind. In the 27th minute Corneliu Dridu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Taffarel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes had been played when some careless play by Dr Lecter SC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Moussa Kabre was slow to take the kick. During this time Marquês de Herval's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Moussa Kabre almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Dr Lecter SC's Cosme Pere did a great save. Alfredo Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dr Lecter SC were awarded a corner in the 40th minute after Marquês de Herval's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Omid Kaulbach took the corner. Corneliu Dridu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dida Taffarel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. After the first half Dr Lecter SC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Alfredo Martins made the kick off in the second half. Cosme Pere showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 50th minute of the match. Cosme Pere made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfredo Martins in the 51st minute of play. In the 61st minute Alfredo Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cosme Pere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dida Taffarel was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Corneliu Dridu capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Corneliu Dridu really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. If Gao Xiang Guang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Alfredo Martins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Cosme Pere was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Jacinto Neves hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Marquês de Herval's Dida Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Marquês de Herval from getting a goal against them. Toby Major made in the 75th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Gao Xiang Guang however managed to control. Cosme Pere showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfredo Martins in the 78th minute of the match. In the 79th minute of the match Marquês de Herval got a corner. Dr Lecter SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Moussa Kabre ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Moussa Kabre got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Cosme Pere quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Omid Kaulbach kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Dr Lecter SC made a substitution. Wes Vranx replaced Dieguinho de Medeiros. Dr Lecter SC's Augustin Ţopescu was substituted for Válbson Batista. Dida Taffarel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Corneliu Dridu in the 83rd minute of play. In the 84th minute German Cano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cosme Pere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marquês de Herval's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Moussa Kabre in the 85th minute. After 90 played minutes Dr Lecter SC got a freekick which was hit by Corneliu Dridu. In the 93rd minute Marquês de Herval were awarded a corner. Moussa Kabre went to the cornerflag to take it. Augustin Ţopescu hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. 95 minutes into the match, Marquês de Herval's Moussa Kabre sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cosme Pere narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Dr Lecter SC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
