The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jago Barrientos during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 9 played minutes Salud y República got a freekick which was hit by Jago Barrientos. Torsten Kock's late challenge caught a Salud y República's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Torsten Kock helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th minute, Torsten Kock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22ndth minute of the game Ingvar Granberg who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Salud y República's Alvino Galnares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 28th minute David Dahlberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvino Galnares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 29 minutes Salud y República's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Helge Alberg who took care of the corner kick. Helge Alberg made a great header on Degerfors IF's corner, it was just that Salud y República's Alvino Galnares managed to reach the ball for a save. A collision led to Degerfors IF getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Algot Grönberg hit a great ball. 34 minutes into the game, Adrian Tunström was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Degerfors IF's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Salud y República the free kick. 37 minutes into the game, Salud y República's Adulfo Teresa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eric Ivarsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Andoitz Talavera was the one to do the kick off. Adulfo Teresa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eric Ivarsson having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingvar Granberg in the 52nd minute of play forced Salud y República's goalkeeper Alvino Galnares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 61 played minutes Degerfors IF got a freekick which was hit by Adrian Tunström. Nicolao Aguado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Andoitz Talavera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 67 played minutes Degerfors IF got a freekick which was hit by Ingvar Granberg. In the 70th minute, Tommy Wik hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Salud y República's Juan Dominguez couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 71st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Degerfors IF. The crowd rose to their feet as Salud y República's Andoitz Talavera slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eric Ivarsson. That made the score 0-2 after 74 minutes of play. Salud y República's Alvino Galnares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingvar Granberg in the 78th minute of play. Jago Barrientos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alvino Galnares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ingvar Granberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Andoitz Talavera's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Eric Ivarsson firmly grabbed it by the left post. Salud y República played a much better game than Degerfors IF and deserved their victory. The Degerfors IF players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
