The referee ignored Australian Youth Academy's protests and gave Bradley Obree a yellow card for diving instead. In the 4th minute, Bradley Obree hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Salud y República's Andoitz Talavera in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Australian Youth Academy's goalie prevented a goal. 11 minutes into the match, Adulfo Teresa notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Australian Youth Academy's Dani Cochrane. Dani Cochrane was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Australian Youth Academy's Dani Cochrane played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adulfo Teresa in the 13th minute of play. Dani Cochrane took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adulfo Teresa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 13th minute Adulfo Teresa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dani Cochrane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute Neville Wal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alvino Galnares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Salud y República's Adulfo Teresa got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Australian Youth Academy's Neville Wal, in the 31st minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Australian Youth Academy. After a rather tough play, Salud y República's Jago Barrientos got a free kick in the 39th minute. Olliver Todman scored 1-1 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alvino Galnares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alvino Galnares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Neville Wal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Andoitz Talavera made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Dakota Gaffigan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Australian Youth Academy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Alvino Galnares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Olliver Todman in the 58th minute of the match. In the 59th match minute, Salud y República was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Mudarra to maneuver through the defense. Australian Youth Academy's Dugald Berresford was substituted for Ben Minton. A collision led to Salud y República getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Juan Dominguez hit a great ball. Alvino Galnares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Neville Wal, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. After 68 minutes, Jones Schutt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Australian Youth Academy and the Salud y República players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jones Schutt hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Adulfo Teresa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dani Cochrane was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. After 75 minutes of play, Australian Youth Academy's Olliver Todman made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alvino Galnares was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 78th minute Adulfo Teresa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dani Cochrane saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alvino Galnares came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Australian Youth Academy's Dugald Berresford. But to his dismay, Dugald Berresford quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Olliver Todman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alvino Galnares having to interfere. A collision led to Australian Youth Academy getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Brayden Carberry hit a great ball. When Dugald Berresford fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Australian Youth Academy's protests and gave Dugald Berresford a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Salud y República booed when Australian Youth Academy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dugald Berresford didn't get a good kick on the ball. 94 minutes into the match, Salud y República's Juan Dominguez broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Alvino Galnares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dugald Berresford in the 96th minute of play. Salud y República's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
