Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Thami Klaasens kicked off to start the match. Sizwe Bartlett showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Moises Fernandino in the 9th minute of the match. Sipho Tau received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Union Transvaal getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Joseph Nunes hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Union Transvaal's Vuyo Koen got a free kick in the 27th minute. Sizwe Bartlett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateo Leguizamo in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute Sipho Tau shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thami Klaasens fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Jesus Carvallo hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Thami Klaasens got free with Ricardo Zorita in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Moises Fernandino to make the kick off. In the 57th match minute, Union Transvaal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Takalani Manyethela to maneuver through the defense. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Union Transvaal the free kick. The Union Transvaal fans cheered their team off the field, for while El Salvador had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
