Meelis Vananurm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramon Kismi in the 24th minute of play. Karl Kugler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marcelo Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. If Ramon Kismi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Karl Kugler came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź's Marcelo Abreu. But to his dismay, Marcelo Abreu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Meelis Vananurm made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ramon Kismi in the 36th minute of play. In the 40th match minute, ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hennes Wickihalter to maneuver through the defense. 44 minutes into the game, Lindi Mena cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Karl Kugler was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 47 minutes into the game, ◄19A10► Widzew Łódź's Erubiel Justin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Karl Kugler made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Meelis Vananurm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens Håning, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Erubiel Justin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Karl Kugler made a huge save. Hugo Emmel hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match.
