One of Limburg United:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Emerald:s goal. After 8 played minutes Emerald got a freekick which was hit by Ioan Logofătu. 15 minutes into the game, Victor Piţurcă cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Julius Vanneste was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The throw-in from Dimitry Sannen in the 21st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Emerald's Matei Félix Júnior. In the 22nd minute of the game Dimitry Sannen made a throw-in which Herald Van de Velde played forward. Philip Toeback fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bogdan Lobonț having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 29th minute by Philip Toeback got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Julius Vanneste took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victor Piţurcă, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 32 minutes into the match, Limburg United's goal looked a bit too open when Victor Piţurcă came free, but Julius Vanneste reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the match, Emerald's goalkeeper Bogdan Lobonț had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Philip Toeback. After 35 minutes Emerald's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Douglas Debecker who took care of the corner kick. Emerald's Niculae Negreanu quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Dimitry Sannen, made in the 37th minute of the game. Victor Piţurcă might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julius Vanneste. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Victor Piţurcă ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 39th minute Victor Piţurcă shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julius Vanneste saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Victor Piţurcă in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julius Vanneste prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Victor Piţurcă fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julius Vanneste having to interfere. If Yves Schollens had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Dimitry Sannen made in the 52nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Emerald's Ioan Logofătu. In the 55th minute of the match Emerald got a corner. Limburg United's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jaime Carioca ran over to the corner to take the kick. Gabriel Vermeşan made a great header on Emerald's corner, it was just that Limburg United's Julius Vanneste managed to reach the ball for a save. 57 minutes into the match, Emerald's goal looked a bit too open when Philip Toeback came free, but Bogdan Lobonț reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Emerald getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Ioan Logofătu hit a great ball. 61 minutes into the match, Emerald's Victor Piţurcă sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julius Vanneste narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Victor Piţurcă had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Victor Piţurcă in the 67th minute of play forced Limburg United's goalkeeper Julius Vanneste to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Dimitry Sannen threw the ball into play from the sideline. Emerald's Ioan Logofătu quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Emerald's Bogdan Lobonț played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mihovil Uremović in the 70th minute of play. In the 74th match minute, Limburg United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Philip Toeback to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute, Emerald's Victor Piţurcă ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Julius Vanneste. Julius Vanneste yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. The supporters of Emerald booed when Limburg United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dimitry Sannen didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Victor Piţurcă put it in 0-4 from a short distance just to the right of Julius Vanneste. Victor Piţurcă struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Julius Vanneste didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Emerald. After 84 played minutes Limburg United got a freekick which was hit by Douglas Debecker. In the 85th minute, Victor Piţurcă left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Emerald fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Victor Piţurcă in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julius Vanneste saved Limburg United from getting behind. The audience was convinced that Victor Piţurcă's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julius Vanneste was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Julius Vanneste didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 91st minute, which inside left pole to 0-6. Dimitry Sannen hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Julius Vanneste made an important save on a dangerous shot by Victor Piţurcă in the 96th minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Emerald eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
