To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 23 minutes into the match, FC Saxon's goalkeeper Gustaw Lech had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fred Mendonça. After 29 played minutes Hamburg City Vampires got a freekick which was hit by Marc Hooiveld. 36 minutes into the match, Tadeusz Siekierka notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Hamburg City Vampires's Eugeniusz Tyski. Eugeniusz Tyski was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 39th match minute, FC Saxon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antoni Bubczyk to maneuver through the defense. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tadeusz Siekierka stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Reinhard Borkmann's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustaw Lech read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play.
