The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Ionel Frățilă made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicu Golumbean got free with Serafim Mesquita in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Várzea F.C. getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Albertinho Travassos hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valentin Bogrea in the 57th minute of play forced Várzea F.C.'s goalkeeper Serafim Mesquita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
