After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Freddy Gil managed to get in a good position for a shot. Club Atletico Chusca's supporters rose to their feet, but Freddy Gil was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fermin Santos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Fermin Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Perrando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Tiburcio Maore managed to avoid a goal in the 33rdth minute, when Atlético Nacional's Godofredo Manni fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tiburcio Maore didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Godofredo Manni went, in the 38th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Freddy Gil to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy Gil in the 52nd minute of play forced Atlético Nacional's goalkeeper Fermin Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fermin Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfonso Perrando in the 54th minute of the match. After having played for 58 minutes, Eleuterio Efren managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Nacional's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eleuterio Efren was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 61st minute Jeremias Manex shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiburcio Maore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alfonso Perrando showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Tiburcio Maore made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ignacio Confesor in the 72nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Manex in the 77th minute of play forced Club Atletico Chusca's goalkeeper Tiburcio Maore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Atlético Nacional's Moises Abel got a free kick in the 78th minute. Club Atletico Chusca's Tiburcio Maore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Godofredo Manni in the 85th minute of play. If Hilario Juvenal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 91stth minute of the game Alfonso Perrando who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Nacional's Fermin Santos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfonso Perrando got free with Fermin Santos in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Club Atletico Chusca supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Club Atletico Chusca would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
