The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Baldomiro Txindoki had great luck who in the 4thth minute grab hold of the ball when Gard Bredesen from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Thomas Revheim came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Orçun Yalınalp. But to his dismay, Orçun Yalınalp quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. POPODARA F.C's Bendik Bekken got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 10thth minute of the game Gard Bredesen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Baldomiro Txindoki was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Baldomiro Txindoki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gard Bredesen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 22 minutes FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kryspin Mazierski who took care of the corner kick. Kryspin Mazierski made a great header on POPODARA F.C's corner, it was just that FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Baldomiro Txindoki managed to reach the ball for a save. Thomas Revheim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilson Arósio in the 24th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Gard Bredesen's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Baldomiro Txindoki was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. The POPODARA F.C fans' excitement grew in the 27th match minute when POPODARA F.C's Gard Bredesen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Orçun Yalınalp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eric Luican's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Thomas Revheim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Bendik Bekken received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Baldomiro Txindoki tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baldomiro Txindoki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gard Bredesen in the 45th minute of play. Petrică Cândreanu hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Zenon Galagan got a free kick in the 47th minute. A hard shot 49 in the game by Ruperto Gonza from a close distance when the talented Baldomiro Txindoki managed to make a qualified save. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's players were relieved. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gard Bredesen stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Bendik Bekken ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Baldomiro Txindoki was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Thomas Revheim was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Wilson Arósio capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Wilson Arósio really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Orçun Yalınalp struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Thomas Revheim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC UNIREA Alba Iulia. Thomas Revheim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eric Luican, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd minute of the match FC UNIREA Alba Iulia got a corner. POPODARA F.C's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Petrică Cândreanu ran over to the corner to take the kick. Thomas Revheim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petrică Cândreanu in the 66th minute of play. 69 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goal looked a bit too open when Ruperto Gonza came free, but Baldomiro Txindoki reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to FC UNIREA Alba Iulia getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Gigel Horhoianu hit a great ball. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Baldomiro Txindoki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruperto Gonza in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th minute of the match POPODARA F.C got a corner. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kryspin Mazierski ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Kryspin Mazierski almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's Baldomiro Txindoki did a great save. Orçun Yalınalp hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. The supporters of POPODARA F.C booed when FC UNIREA Alba Iulia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orçun Yalınalp didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, POPODARA F.C's goalkeeper Thomas Revheim had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Orçun Yalınalp. When the match clock showed 82 minutes, the score became 3-3 when Petrică Cândreanu sped through POPODARA F.C's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Thomas Revheim. A collision led to FC UNIREA Alba Iulia getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Nicolae Ungureanu hit a great ball. In the 96th minute, Walery Popowicz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
