In the 16th minute Iulian Pietreanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gordon Horgan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. COPERNICUS TORUŃ's Gordon Horgan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iulian Pietreanu in the 19th minute of play. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Petrică Cândreanu in the 20th minute. A well done corner resulted in Iulian Pietreanu drilling the ball in to score 0-2 behind COPERNICUS TORUŃ's goalkeeper. The supporters of COPERNICUS TORUŃ booed when FC UNIREA Alba Iulia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mariano Jordy didn't get a good kick on the ball.
