Protegéerna's Bolo Skjold played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trond Gilde in the 2nd minute of play. Protegéerna's Jakob Lundin got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petter Skarkman in the 9th minute of play forced Saga TF's goalkeeper Joachim Forseth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th minute Petter Skarkman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Forseth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Joachim Forseth stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jakob Lundin's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. In the 14thth minute of the game Petter Skarkman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Saga TF's Joachim Forseth was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joachim Forseth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jakob Lundin in the 18th minute of the match. 21 minutes into the match, Arne Botnen notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Protegéerna's Bolo Skjold. Bolo Skjold was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Petter Skarkman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Joachim Forseth came out and tried to block the shot, but Petter Skarkman slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 33rd minute. Erik Cantona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes in the game Leszek Milko did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Erik Cantona. Protegéerna's attentive Ossi Eloranta managed to snatch the ball when Leszek Milko made a throw-in in the 47th minute of the game. Joachim Forseth made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ulrik Söderlund in the 48th minute.

If Erik Cantona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Joachim Forseth came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Protegéerna's Petter Skarkman. But to his dismay, Petter Skarkman quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Joachim Forseth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ossi Eloranta in the 63rd minute of play. When Jakob Lundin came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Protegéerna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jakob Lundin couldn't finish the play. Joachim Forseth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petter Skarkman, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. The corner ended in Michael Näver almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Saga TF's Joachim Forseth did a great save. After a rather tough play, Protegéerna's Ossi Eloranta got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 91st minute Petter Skarkman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joachim Forseth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erik Cantona in the 93rd minute of play forced Protegéerna's goalkeeper Bolo Skjold to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 95th match minute, Protegéerna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Petter Skarkman to maneuver through the defense. Saga TF's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
