After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Alberigo Di Franco managed to get in a good position for a shot. A.S. Udinese's supporters rose to their feet, but Alberigo Di Franco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Christoffer Modig breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Christoffer Modig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexander Bottone, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. After 7 minutes Oakcroft Thrashers's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cristiano Paolucci who took care of the corner kick. Alvaro Rotili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ingemar Jonasson in the 9th minute of the match. Alberigo Di Franco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 17 minutes, Hugo Hellgren mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Oakcroft Thrashers and the A.S. Udinese players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Oakcroft Thrashers getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Hugo Hellgren hit a great ball. If Alberigo Di Franco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Christoffer Modig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexander Bottone in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th match minute, Oakcroft Thrashers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anders Andersson to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when Ingemar Jonasson came free, but Alvaro Rotili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of A.S. Udinese booed when Oakcroft Thrashers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hugo Hellgren didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexander Bottone in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christoffer Modig prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Alexander Bottone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 45th minute Alexander Bottone shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christoffer Modig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

A.S. Udinese's Dino Pozzoli was substituted for Bruno Maranzano. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alexander Bottone was the one to do the kick off. Oakcroft Thrashers's Anders Andersson got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 53 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's Alexander Bottone sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christoffer Modig narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Alexander Bottone might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christoffer Modig. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexander Bottone ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingemar Jonasson in the 56th minute of play forced A.S. Udinese's goalkeeper Alvaro Rotili to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Christoffer Modig made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alexander Bottone in the 58th minute. Anders Andersson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Alvaro Rotili tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A.S. Udinese made a substitution. Augusto Clemente replaced Alberigo Di Franco. Alvaro Rotili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingemar Jonasson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 65th minute Augusto Clemente shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christoffer Modig saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Udinese's Augusto Clemente was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Christoffer Modig in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Alvaro Rotili showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jörn Holm, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 82 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when Anders Andersson came free, but Alvaro Rotili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hugo Hellgren kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Ercole Fiorentino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Udinese fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Clemente couldn't finish the play. Despite being the better team, A.S. Udinese failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
