The audience thought a goal was coming when Andriy Shevchenko got free with Şanver Başaran in the 4th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Horacio Cedro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 14 minutes, Şanver Başaran successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Osmar dos Santos in the 15th minute of play forced A.D.Berazategui's goalkeeper Şanver Başaran to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Horacio Cedro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 19th minute Osmar dos Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şanver Başaran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A.D.Berazategui's Şanver Başaran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Osmar dos Santos in the 20th minute of play. After 21 minutes A.D.Berazategui's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Andriy Shevchenko who took care of the corner kick. The supporters of A.D Leônico booed when A.D.Berazategui was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vatan Kambay was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, A.D Leônico's goal looked a bit too open when Horacio Cedro came free, but André Luiz de Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
