Gyula Grosics showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cebo Adán, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 9th match minute, Nagyváradi AC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Csaba Virágh to maneuver through the defense. In the 34th minute, one of Villawalter City:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Villawalter City. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Ödön Rákosi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nagyváradi AC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ödön Rákosi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joan Astudillo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Villawalter City's goalkeeper Joan Astudillo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.
The wind increased when Gerald Deulofeu made the kick off in the second half.
