Gyula Grosics showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pascall de Vries, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. With a little luck, AC Pitt Bier's Fokke Veenhuis got control of the ball when Ferenc Puskás tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pascall de Vries got free with Gyula Grosics in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fokke Veenhuis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Roland Szikora in the 81st minute of play. With a little luck, Nagyváradi AC's Gyula Grosics got control of the ball when Twan Lute tried to sneak it across the goal line.
