The corner ended in Ferdi van der Schaaf almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but VN SOKOLI-VARNA's Haralampi Kúrkelanov did a great save. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vihren Bozhanov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, De Pelgrims's goal looked a bit too open when Vihren Bozhanov came free, but Laurens Oosterman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Laurens Oosterman showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Haralampi Kúrkelanov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elbert Spanjer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute, Koos Keupink hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. De Pelgrims's Laurens Oosterman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valentin Krotev in the 90th minute of play. Menno Bodde scored 0-1 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Haralampi Kúrkelanov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
