In the 24thth minute of the game 吴飞棋 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but De Pelgrims's Mike Zoetmulder was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Ciprian Toma made the kick off in the second half. Dida Mazurkiewicz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Huub Gerrits in the 75th minute of play. After a rather tough play, De Pelgrims's Herman Craandijk got a free kick in the 86th minute. Salvador Musacchio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
