Zdzislaw Kręcina took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Mike Zoetmulder. Cícero Palmeira made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Perivaldo Eger sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Huub Gerrits in the 25th minute of play forced Emeryt Sosnowiec's goalkeeper Cícero Palmeira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Olaf Glozor scored 0-3 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mike Zoetmulder, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Perivaldo Eger got free with Cícero Palmeira in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Mathias de Ruijter could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Cícero Palmeira made a huge save. Theo Tuyp had several of the Emeryt Sosnowiec's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 34 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-3 score and a disappointed Cícero Palmeira as he didn't even see the shot coming.
