Virgilio Marcilla made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Hélio Vaz sent off a good shot on target. Hélio Vaz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Virgilio Marcilla firmly grabbed it by the left post. 8 minutes into the match, PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Virgilio Marcilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hélio Vaz. Virgilio Marcilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hélio Vaz in the 10th minute. In the 11th minute, Xelo Dagora hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hélio Vaz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Virgilio Marcilla having to make a save. A collision led to PERSPOLIS getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Xelo Dagora hit a great ball. In the 17th minute, Hélio Vaz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The KS LEW Chorzów fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. After 27 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for PERSPOLIS! When the match had been going on for 28 minutes, KS LEW Chorzów's Marian Beninda got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Virgilio Marcilla. If Hélio Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to KS LEW Chorzów getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Marian Beninda hit a great ball. Virgilio Marcilla came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by KS LEW Chorzów's Hélio Vaz. But to his dismay, Hélio Vaz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Xelo Dagora hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Hélio Vaz might have been able to make a better finish in the 39th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Virgilio Marcilla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hélio Vaz ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 40th minute, KS LEW Chorzów's Marian Beninda ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Virgilio Marcilla. Virgilio Marcilla yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 4-0. Virgilio Marcilla made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Hélio Vaz sent off a good shot on target. Xelo Dagora kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

Virgilio Marcilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hélio Vaz went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. A collision led to KS LEW Chorzów getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Emilio Dantel hit a great ball. Hélio Vaz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Virgilio Marcilla having to make a save. Virgilio Marcilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hélio Vaz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Virgilio Marcilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio Vaz in the 76th minute of play. When Xelo Dagora fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PERSPOLIS's protests and gave Xelo Dagora a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hélio Vaz in the 80th minute of play forced PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Virgilio Marcilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marian Beninda in the 81st minute of play forced PERSPOLIS's goalkeeper Virgilio Marcilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute, Marian Beninda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Virgilio Marcilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marian Beninda in the 85th minute of the match. Virgilio Marcilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marian Beninda in the 87th minute of play. In the 91st match minute, KS LEW Chorzów was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Luís Alcântara to maneuver through the defense. KS LEW Chorzów's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
