After 9 minutes of play, KOO Tigers's Lv Lei made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bryan Deery was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some careless play in the 1948 MKS defense, Lv Lei kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bryan Deery. The 1948 MKS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bryan Deery should have stopped the shot. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by 1948 MKS's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. KOO Tigers's Lv Lei got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 47 minutes into the match, KOO Tigers's Lv Lei sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bryan Deery narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After the first half KOO Tigers were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Donleavy Barrett stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bryan Deery showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lv Lei, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Meriç Baytekin's late challenge caught a 1948 MKS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Meriç Baytekin helped the player get up and apologised. Meriç Baytekin kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match.
