After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Eoghan Barrett managed to get in a good position for a shot. 1948 MKS's supporters rose to their feet, but Eoghan Barrett was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcu Loghin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 16 minutes, Victor Mahonea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Delphine Stars and the 1948 MKS players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Delphine Stars getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Victor Mahonea hit a great ball. In the 18th minute, Marian Taşcău hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Denis Nenciu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 42nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bryan Deery. 1948 MKS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 44th minute, Costică Vărzaru left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Delphine Stars fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. When Denis Nenciu came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Delphine Stars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Denis Nenciu couldn't finish the play. The 1948 MKS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Delphine Stars were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Emanuel Tiberiu made a kick off. Costică Vărzaru recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, 1948 MKS's Barhan Barrett got a free kick in the 59th minute. Marian Taşcău's late challenge caught a 1948 MKS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
