The supporters of VB-Team booed when Jenipapo SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jenipapo SC's Aníbal Alagoano got a good chance for a goal in the 32nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raphael Cunha hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. David Seaman showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shao Kun Yuan in the 35th minute of the match. Vinicio Junior received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Armindo Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Luís Caeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Seaman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Raphael Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The VB-Team players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Jenipapo SC were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joaquim de Barros to strike the kick off in the second half. The long shot by Maurício Arósio in the 52nd minute really tested Armindo Salgado's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 58th minute Joaquim de Barros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but David Seaman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Aníbal Alagoano got free with Armindo Salgado in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. VB-Team's Armindo Salgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinicio Junior in the 61st minute of play. When Aníbal Alagoano came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Jenipapo SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aníbal Alagoano couldn't finish the play. VB-Team made a substitution.
