Robertinho Carabajal's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dario Wilhelm read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. AFC Koolkerke's Ulises Steven proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save AFC Koolkerke from getting a goal against them. In the 42nd minute, Rashad Richardson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Robertinho Carabajal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robertinho Carabajal might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dario Wilhelm. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robertinho Carabajal ran back to his position shaking his head. Dario Wilhelm showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robertinho Carabajal, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The supporters of Cascade Park West booed when AFC Koolkerke was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tang Di Nan didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rolland Hobbs took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 71st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ulises Steven. AFC Koolkerke's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Waldo Renteria scored 1-0 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ulises Steven, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as AFC Koolkerke's Robertinho Carabajal slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Dario Wilhelm. That made the score 1-1 after 86 minutes of play. Ulises Steven took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wang Sha Qian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rolland Hobbs kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match.
