Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Fc Otelul Galati's Alin Teodorescu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nicodim Iacobeanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 10 minutes into the game, Francisco Seco cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. If Maximiliano Escribano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Lars Schuster's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. After 26 minutes Uruguay's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bogdan Boerescu who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Kevin Carballal got a free kick in the 28th minute. Maximiliano Escribano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florian Penc in the 32nd minute of the match. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lars Schuster's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lars Schuster helped the player get up and apologised. In the 41st match minute, Fc Otelul Galati was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Basarab Chelbea to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Seco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nicodim Iacobeanu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Fc Otelul Galati fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 43rd minute. Penalty! The referee gave Uruguay a penalty, 46 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jaime Cazalla, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Fc Otelul Galati's Nicodim Iacobeanu. 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Francisco Seco to strike the kick off in the second half. After 54 minutes of play, Fc Otelul Galati's Florian Penc made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Joaquin Gayoso was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice moves Francisco Seco could shoot a difficult shot in the 59th minute, which Nicodim Iacobeanu however easily saved by the left post. In the 61st minute, Francisco Seco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 67 minutes into the match, Fc Otelul Galati's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Cazalla came free, but Nicodim Iacobeanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Kevin Carballal got a free kick in the 68th minute. When Florian Penc came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Fc Otelul Galati fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florian Penc couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Basarab Chelbea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fc Otelul Galati's supporters rose to their feet, but Basarab Chelbea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 81 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Sainz. With a little luck, Fc Otelul Galati's Nicodim Iacobeanu got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Francisco Seco kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Nicodim Iacobeanu. That made the score 2-3 in the 88 minute of play. In the 90th match minute, Fc Otelul Galati was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florian Penc to maneuver through the defense. Uruguay's attentive Alberto Gisbert managed to snatch the ball when Ion Ailincai made a throw-in in the 92nd minute of the game. Camilo Franco hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Fc Otelul Galati was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bogdan Boerescu didn't get a good kick on the ball.
